OK guys, I've ran into the first problem with my wife's P230. It will stovepipe about once a magazine. When I first started having the problem, I took it home, made sure it was cleaned/oiled and I still had stovepipes when I returned to the range the next day.

I have never had problems before. I have used different kinds of ammo with it and it is the WWB that seem to be the problem ammo. No prob with other ammo. Is this an ammo issue of what?

New? Used? How many rounds? Could be the extractor needs to be replaced.

I bought a used P-220 a couple of years ago and it worked just fine. Then this year I started to some issues with it. Changed the extractor and it runs like a champ again.

yep Sigs are known for for the claw on the extractor "peening". BUT the usual stovepipe problems are magazine related.... you seem to have eliminated that as it works fine with the other ammo.

Usually a few strokes in the right place with a machinist file will fix the peened extractor. I have a 228 with a gazillion rounds through it and I've had to touch up the extractor twice. Have a new one in the drawer, but it takes a few thousand rounds before it starts acting up.

this is obviously not my carry gun, or I'd have replaced the extractor...

Sorry, should have given more info.

Gun was purchased new. Doesn't have any more than about 700-800 rounds through it. Mags are 7rd factory that came with it.

I'll look at the extractor tonight.

My wife has a 232 and had similar problems. It was caused by 1 of 2 things. First was her not seating the rounds in the magazine. She solved this by tapping the magizine to seat the rounds in the mag. Second was caused on the first shot by not pulling the slide back and letting in go forward hard enough. Pull the puppy back fast and hard and let in fly forward...Hope this solves your problem....

My P-232 has similar problems with Federal Hydra-Shoks. It just does not like them, yielding a stoppage every ten rounds or so. So I use S&B FMJ for practice, and carry Gold Dots.

At first I thought it was because the rounds weren't seated but after trying still did it. Oh well, no more WWB 380 for me. The Remington ammo seems to run well and is only a few dollars more.
