I bot new mag, and installed brand new recoil springs. Took it to the range, fired 6 full mags of 8 rds. One round hung up ( the first round in the mag ) when I released the slide using the slide release on a full mag. All the other rounds went in fine after "slingshoting" the slide with the full mag. Ramp is very coarse. Is the problem more likely the chamber or ramp in need of polishing? Thanks in advance.

Wartime P38? I don't know the answer. Has zero Nazi markings on it like the eagle. It doesn't seem beat up enough to be from WWII.
Has all matching serial numbers, though. I didn't know any companies did this, but the markings on the mag match a marking on the frame. Different than the serial nos on the frame/slide/barrel.

Factory mag or aftermarket? Have you tried pushing up on the base of the mag when you fire it? That might point to a worn or mislocated mag catch notch in the mag or worn mag catch holding the mag too low.

Mint condition, unused, New Old Stock, mag manufactured by Walther. At least it has their logo on it.
