I have a question for any P3AT owners. I recently purchased the Ruger LCP and I noticed that the bottom sides of the chamber, where it meets the lug, is very thin metal. I was wondering if the P3AT's chamber is also thin walled in this area.

The reason I ask is that Ruger recently added a warning in the manual not to use +P ammo. I don't think Kel Tec has this limit and thought maybe the P3AT has a more robust chamber.

Close up pics of the P3AT chamber would be great!

Thanks all!

If I am understanding your question correctly, you are referring to the sidewalls on the feed ramp? If so mine are also thin on the 2nd gen p3at. Where the lug is there seems to be enough meat there for it to withhold some +p ammo, most likely not alot though. From what I have seen in the ammo market there is Buffalo Bore and Double Tap as the only manufactures to make +p 380 ammo. Cor-Bon claims to be a +p, I asked Kel Tec about the Cor-Bon ammo and they say it is rated at safe loading pressure for the p3at. Contact Ruger if you are looking into any of the other high pressure loading manufactures to make sure it is safe for carry ammo. I currently am carrying the new Hornady Critical Defense. It is somewhat of an exotic ammo though, having a filled hollow tip. It seems to cycle well and isn't to expensive for some practice and lots of carry. I hope this is helpful to you.

Thanks for the replies! Time, I think we are talking about the same area, right where the slide meets the barrel/chamber. The walls of the chamber are very thin there on the LCP. Still hoping someone could post a picture of the PAT3 tchamber though to compare. None in stock at the local gun shop, or I'd take a look there--always looking for an excuse to visit the gun shop!
