I have shot approximately 800 rounds through my p7. I finally found a gas piston scraper, but I do not have the gas piston brush still.
First, how do I remove the carbon from the gas piston itself (not the slot). The thing is coal black. I have a stainless steel brush, phosphor bronze brush, and nylon brush along with Hoppes #9. Would any of these products combined suffice? Normally I wouldn't be so hesitative, but this gun is my carry gun, so I need it to perform flawlessly.
Second, what caliber and material of brush should I use to clean the gas piston slot since I can't seem to find the one that H&K shipped the gun with.
Third, should any products like CLP be used to lube the gas piston slot?
Thank you for your time and advice.
