I don't know how it started for me but I guess the G44. I've always wanted a glock chambered in .22 LR mainly due to ammo cost and glock is what I carry. When the 44 came out I wasn't a big fan mainly due to the weird slide and bad reviews. I have over a dozen 22 handguns but none of them follow the glock pattern. I was considering P80 lowers with the advantage arms conversion kit but have never built one. Then the 3d frames came to mind.
Over the past month (several prints) I have come up with a completed 26, two 19s and a 17 all of which might seem to work. Today at the range, only one of the 19 works and the 26 with a few issues. A lot of the issues led back to the trigger i think, and the slide being too tight. either very heavy or the striker does not go off. I found a "Strike 80" frame I really liked. I printed all three sizes prior to having parts and none of them work when assembled. (price per frame is about $1.5-$2 so not much) That has been my experience. It sucks because i have enough parts for at least 6 builds and so far only 1 works but has a 10lb trigger.
I have since bought all three conversion kits and only have somewhat success in the 26 frame. I accidentally brought my OEM 17 frame with conversion kit. Ran mostly good besides the mags don't drop free from an open slide.
There was a lot of time, money and effort invested in this project. I accidentally ordered two 19 P80 rails so I might actually build a P80 G19. 3d frames use different rails, who would've knew? Most don't say either. But then for the price I could just get an OEM frame. Add a slide and now you're paying more for it if you would've just got it in the first place. What are your experiences? How was your luck with P80 or 3d frames? will post pix when uploaded
