p89 dry firing

Ruger does not address dry firing in the KP89DAO manual. I've always assumed it's ok, but it makes me nervous that they specifically state it's ok for the GP100, and make no mention of it for the p89.

Can anyone refer me to sources of information outside the manuals for ruger pistols?
