Hey,

I had a P99 a while back...and now am thinking about reacquiring one...

But I can't remeber which one I had...

It had an intial double action trigger...and then went single action after the first shot...

Is it QA? AS? or what ?

Remember it was a Military model...which I guess meant it was green....

Thanks!

Shane

The single action trigger is the anti stress. The quick action trigger is similar to the glock setup.

Yeah, that's the Anti Stress trigger. Hard first pull (to avoid accidental stress pulls) followed by lighter subsequent pulls.

Right on...

I appreciate the info...knew it had to be...just wanted to be sure...

I like the way it works...

Actually I'd prefer the QA model except for the fact that the "decocker" is still there and renders the gun unshootable until the slide is partially racked -- simulates a Glock and a mis-fire, I guess, but a bug not a feature to me.

I think the new P99 also lack the "ski-slope" in the trigger gaurd -- another plus for me, and have "standard" rails instead of the proprietary one on the originals.

Better hurry on the A/S trigger - they are no longer being imported. Also, S&W is not making their SW99 anymore either - so what is in stock at places is it. Walther is now only importing the QA trigger (a heavier glock style trigger) and SW has the SW990L - a somewhat similiar setup.

I have a compact Walther A/S and a SW99. I love both. Now, don't sell the SW99 short - the past couple of times I have gone to the range, I shot better w/ it than I do my $1200 1911. Many people rip it and want the original Walther version, but I love that gun. I will admit that the Walther slide looks a bit cooler. But I held both versions in full size, and the grip on the S&W is a little more comfortable in my opinion. The thumb rest is designed slightly different in the frame.

Yeah....the AS is pretty much gone from the shelves...

Have to start looking for used guns I guess...

Dang...

When I couldn't find a green Walther fullsize in 9mm A/S, I bought the SW99. I am happy I did.

That being said, I believe Earl's Repair Service is still importing limited numebers of the A/S, but he charges like $200 more for the gun, and will only get them in black.

I talked to Smith and Wessona bout 2 months ago and they told me that they were still importing the AS. Ive had one on order for 2 months now in 9mm AS. They arent gone just not in the numbers they once were! Oh yeah CDNN had a good deal on some Black P99compact AS. I couldnt pass them up and its now my carry gun.
