Ive got more than that in just bullit heads alone, not to mention the factory and hand loads sitting in one of my bedrooms.

For the love of pete (do people say that anymore? ) down here in Alabama, compared to Maryland where I lived for 30+ years, even the "Democrats" don't fuss about gun laws.

It really is a different culture, though to be fair other than gun ownership/self defense in general, Birmingham is probably not much different than Baltimore.

When I went to renewel my "Pistol License" (CCW) last year ( had one since May 2005, I moved here from Reisterstown, Md 11/2004) two thirds of the renewers were African-American.

Most politics other than guns seems to be the same old Democrat vs. Republican machine.

Most folks would be surprised that the Alabama legislature is mostly Democrats, though what a "Democrat" is in the south compared to one in the Northeast or Northwest would be a surprise to many. Fiscally liberal but socially conservative, unless you are talking about Atlanta or Miami or somesuch (re: "Birmimgham News").

Having lived in "Baltimore Sun" territory (grew up in Carroll County. MD - yes, we got the "Carroll County Times, too) I am always amused at the B'ham News attempt to be "moderate"!

Fire inspectors were more concerned to discover more than 800 pounds of small-arms ammunition, mostly bullets and magazine rounds, in Room 715 - on the same floor as administrative offices, Ayers said.

What's a "magazine round"??? :neener:

They'd both fly in opposite directions with the same momentum.
Only if they were of equal weight...the heavier object (such as a pistol or revolver bullet) wouldn't go very far. That test has been done many times.

It's nice to know that I have more ammo than city hall (by several multiples) - all my ammo hoarding efforts must be working

800 lbs of ammunition and related items is not that much for a city. Many THR members say they have more than that in their homes. Unguarded; well, it seemed pretty secure to me. I guess they have to post guards now at the door 24/7 if they store ammunition. Why would anyone go to the trouble of breaking into that room unless it was to destroy or remove evidence? This time it is a health and safety issue and H&S issues are beyond reproach. We all know that.

So the cops are stockpiling weapons and ammo in anticipation of either a major civil uprising or more likely a Philadelphia ban. It makes plenty of sense actually. One gunshop here in the Poconos (Warners) actually makes ARs and sells some to NJ police depts as even they cannot buy them there...
