What do you guys carry when jogging and running?

The Beretta 92G can get quite heavy but not sure if I want to get a smaller gun just to do something I already hate doing

I carry when jogging. Currently I use my KT p-3AT in a Smartcarry so that I don't need shorts with pockets. This arrangement is nice because there is no bouncing like you would have with pocket carry or fanny packs and there are no straps around your chest like with belly bands and those jogging holsters. There's also a nice pocket for your keys and CHL. The KT is also VERY thin and VERY light.

$120 Bulgie Mak in a fanny pack. If I sweat all over it I don't feel to bad.

Since I run so slow it doesn't really slow me down. :) Now if I was a good runner maybe I would need to get a P3at or something.

The Compact CDP usually goes in a plain fanny pack. It's ain't comfortable, especially if I'm trying to move it, but it's better than not having it at all.

I can't imagine carrying the Beretta, tho. The 29 ounces of the 1911 feels like a gold brick...the 42 of the Beretta would be like jogging with a baby. :what:

I've taken to doing speedwork on a treadmill in my basement, and longer, slower runs on the road wearing a Camelback H.A.W.G. Before that I always ran on the street/woods and NEVER carried a gun -- not even a S&W Airweight -- just a Benchmade AFCK. I guess you could buy one of those 'dual water bottle' waistband carriers (check a runner's or sporting goods store or a mountain climbing shop) that have a small zippered pouch in the middle. You could easily fit a lightweight gun like a Glock or an Airweight in there.

The Wilderness/Safepacker makes one of those dual water-bottle cariers designed to carry a handgun. But, you are running pretty far in the heat if you need two bottles. I have never used up more than one, even in Phoenix, but I have never run for real distance (more than 13 or so miles). I find those things pretty uncomfortable - bouncing around as they do.

I carry my P32 with the belt-clip, inside my running shorts. With a tight drawstring, no problemo.

I didn't know the Beretta was that heavy, that must be specs for the Brig model.

On the rare occasion that I carry a full sized gun, I carry a Browning P35 which, if I recall correctly from a previous thread, is 32 ounces unloaded. More of course loaded 13+1 or 15+1. It doesn't really get THAT heavy, but it is a little heavy, the biggest problem I find is that the gun is a little unbalanced with my current IWB rig and wants to pull away from my back because the grip is so heavy compared to the slide.

My current holster has only a single belt loop and I think I need a better IWB holster with belt loops spread out to support the gun better. I'd like something alot the line of a Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 only with a snapping retention strap to retain the gun and help block the hammer. Unfortunately Milt Sparks does not offer the retention strap option on their VM2. Sometimes when I stand up carrying at 4 o'clock I feel like the gun is pointing straight into my back.

I've used more than that BIKING that distance. I sweat alot though, I always have. It DOES get pretty hot up here in the summer though believe it or not. North Dakota holds some pretty crazy records regarding summer heat. It's that continental climate nuttiness, breathing fire in the summer and s*****g ice cubes in the winter with all kinds of weird extremes one way or the other in the spring and fall.

I used to carry an AMT Backup .45 in a fannypack designed to carry a cassette player. It was a little heavy for this purpose and bounced a bit more than I liked.

Currently, I carry a Kahr P9 in a fannypack that is meant to carry a CD player. I would prefer to carry a PM9 or the new Keltec P3AT but find it hard to justify the expense for just a couple of hours a day.

On runs longer than 10-12 miles I carry the P9 in one of those fannypacks that also have pockets for two water bottles.

You guys are killing me. I keep reading "...10 or 12 miles..." I struggle to run 2 miles!
