Thats a cool and interesting video for me to watch as i am deployed in Afghanistan. The area that he was at is with in 100 miles of me. The culture her is certainly a different one and that's how they use weapons, as tools. No political correctness around here unless your a service member.

They are arming their people to the teeth and our government is disarming all our citizens. Too bad their culture revolves around massacring innocents whereas ours is to protect innocents. Sorry, don't mean to insult "gun culture" , but guns don't belong in every type of societies hands. Americans are or used to be a nation that believed in freedom, truth , justice. In that country I know of Christians and others who have been massacred with the same guns you see in the video. You may think that there is no political correctness, but you can be sure anyone who goes against the religion or beliefs will be forbidden any rights, such as gun ownership, and even more, life.

You go and buy something there and they will put the squeak in to the local law enforcement boys, who will stop you outside the town, confiscate the gun, take it back to the vendor and get paid off.

If you can, keep your eyes open for some of the older (pre 1900) guns. I've seen some that are works of art inlaid with silver and gold. If you can find one of the old British Baker rifles get it, the originals are very valuable. I'm jealous:eek:

Here's a country that will succeed one day...

From the front page of US national newspaper The Washington Times:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jan/13/pakistanis-dont-leave-home-without-ak-47s/

The Pakistani guy featured in the article is a normal, law-abiding, productive office worker. The police, etc. seem not to give a second thought to his exposed carry. It reminds me that, while the right to keep and bear arms (RKBA) is essential to well-ordered society and protection against tyranny, what we have had in the USA is a LUXURY not to need to. We dare not risk losing both the right and the luxury....

If you think about it for a few minutes no country or the strongest military force ever conquered Afghanistan, (remember Pakistan and Indus were all part of Afghanistan). Afghans are armed to the teeth and they may kill each other but if an invader shows up they forget the vendettas and fight the invader.
Sort of reminds me of us, except we're still very young compared to Afghans.

The Viet Cong with armed to the teeth too. It doesn't make them better.. They have one advantage, its not the number of guns, it's their ruthlessness. and lack of compassion for the life of their own famililes. They have no problem hiding amongst civilians to shield them and they always kjnow the people from the other side have to spare human life.

WHered did all these weapons originate? If you notice in the video, a good number of parts were imported from nations that were supporting these people against other regimes. I mean, the Americans have given these people a large cache of weapons to fight Russians. Now ,the Russians and Chinese are probably smuggling in a lot of supplies to hellp them fight the Americans.

Would these guns really have a great effect against a coordinated military attack using air and tanks? I recall the Taliban was pretty well wiped out by American forces. Just because a bunch of fanatics have lot of guns doesn't make them a great army.

It istrue that they are militant and more peaceful countries like India, suffer. But we must remember the Japanese, Hitler and Germany in WWII was more militant, well-trained and armed than the Allied Countries. They had to quickly get their act together and militarize. When they saw their nation was threatened they pulled together to become more powerful and ruthless than their enemy for sake of their own children.

These miltant countries have always survived because they hide amongst civilians. They cling to UN sanctions and media disapproval to win their wars. I have yet to see them win a real face to face combat with a Christian nation who really wants to fight them. Except for the Ottomans, I have not yet seen that in modern history.

Every country has some type of agenda or interest in supporting some type of terrorism and terrorism can be classified as "the poor man's form of war" (or commonly known as LIC, low-intensity-conflict). It's been around for a very long time: Irish vs British, America vs Britain, Middle East vs French, the list goes on and on. China supplies arms to Afghanistan/Pakistan much like the US did supplying Iraq and Afghanistan during the communist invasion in the 70's. Even Americans were "terrorists" by Britain and the French supplied America with weapons an support.

SO you consider America like a country that uses their guns to shoot women who forget to ask their husband to go to the market? Or perhaps if a person decides to become a Christian, then he becomes used as target practice. Just because someone calls you a terrorist doesn't mean you are a terrorist and vice versa. Every enemy nation calls each other a terrorist. The difference is, some people really are good and bad.

I feel the lifestyle and culture of these people is not free and just. Just because people who are apart of their regime can be well armed, doesn't make them a good free society. I have been in countries where some people in the country are outlawed to have guns and others are given guns by the government, because they belong to this or that tribe. This is how governments or able to carry out genocide.

How free are people who dare counter the mindset of that society? The track record of those nations is one of oppression and tyranny. Guns belong in the hands of reponsible and moral people, not people who believe in wiping out other races or oppressing people with different views.

Very interesting video! Would be nice to have some gun shops and shooting ranges like that around here - Ha ha.

That was very interesting, made me drool. Can't even begin to imagine how neat it would be to have open gun markets like that here. We can dream though....

Gun Market

The making of guns in that market go back many, many, years. Back in the late 50's it was thriving, making handguns and rifles from scratch...not imported parts. In addition they also made (and prob still do) some fine looking muzzle loaders which peaked my interest at the time. I had the idea that if one could provide them plans for Kentucky rifles they could make them relatively cheap and there would be a good market for them in this country. Alas, never followed thru with the idea, and it prob wouldn't have gone anywhere as a short time later the Russian onslaught began.
