A manufacturer can have a variance to manufacture for another company but they still should take care of any imperfection... or tell you the manufacturer so you can take the issue up with them.

good points guys. thanks for changing my point on them.

i have a spikes lower, and just ordered a noveske barrel and upper receiver..... hopefully that isnt "junk" to you guys ;)

Absolutely, AR-15 Rep. That's basic in every business, isn't it? It's a matter of integrity.

But I also take with a grain of salt, all the complaints I read on Internet forums.
We never know if those complaints are valid, we never know what really happened.
And we never know if the complainer is actually an incompetent builder.
Maybe there was a manufacturing problem, maybe not.
And the manufacturer is never there to defend himself.
So I take it all with a grain of salt.

i will put this into the conversation:

my CMMG upper/lower combo practically falls apart when unpinned, and rattles.
my spikes lower/delton upper is VERY tight and hard to assemble practically.
i dont know how my spikes lower/noveske upper is gonna be, but im assuming tight :D

so i yea i can kinda see where your going with your argument

I've used 2 PSA lowers, 1 PSA premium BCG, 3 PSA LPKs, 2 PSA charging handles. All were to spec and have worked as intended.

The problem with PSA is the shipping can be very slow when they have sales. 2-3 weeks out or more. I have stopped buying from PSA during sales. I would rather pay a little more and order from Surplus Ammo and Arms or AIM Surplus when PSA has a sale going.

Otherwise. PSA stuff is good to go.

Either they produce them themselves or want us to think they do.
In the AR15 industry, generally speaking, "us" means "our subcontractors and vendors".

PSA confirmed they do not machine them in house. They are machined by an outside contractor for PSA. Ninety percent of AR15 lowers are done this way.

well, they're $49 again, so I finally decided to buy a pair of them, after missing the black friday sale. in the meantime, i did get to handle 4 of them that a friend bought. i saw some differences in the machining, but nothing important so far. we'll see how they go together

The $50 specials are holiday prices from what I can see. Christmas/New Year and Thanksgiving. I think Fathers Day is another one and there are probably some others. I have 2 and while I can't speak for "spec" since I haven't mic'ed them (has anybody?) I can say that you can build a tight, accurate AR from them.

PSA has had that sale at least 3 or 4 times so far.

It's a good bet that they'll have it again sometime soon.

I ordered a few yesterday. I've never done a build on one but they have gotten good reviews on a couple other forums I follow so since I missed the black Friday sale I thought, what the heck. Why not give them a shot. I'll offer a review shortly after I get them and fit a few lower parts kits and test a couple uppers for fit.

If they are made by Aero Precision they should be OK lowers. They are supplying them to many outfits. I bring in Surplus Ammo and Arms lowers made by Aero. (They were early partners) I have been selling the lowers individually and supplying them with delton kits... about 15 or 20 so far.. no one has come back with a problem. I did a build a little over a year ago on an Aero and it wen together pretty well... i remember one thing being a little tight.. cant remember the part but it was not a hard fix. A guy at Aero I talked to at that time said they were aiming to FLOOD the AR market with parts... Sounds like they did.. 50 bucks? WOW

Seems like every major holiday they are running a sale on their lowers...fine by me! My PSA build went together like butter and has functioned flawlessly. Generally speaking they appear to have a very responsive customer service team that are very active on arfcom.

Found this

This per PSA website: "Warranty or Repair - Palmetto State Armory does not do warranty or repair defective items. Please contact the manufacturer of your item for repair or exchange."

I however have one and I couldnt be happier, I gues it just depends on how picky you are.

I don't know what product PSA is talking about in that quote. Despite what it says, there is evry indication from their posts and posts from customers on the AR15.com and M4Carbine.net forums is that they stand behind their products and will repair/replace anything that doesn't meet customer expectation. There are plenty of examples of that.

In fact, it seems to me that they're bending over backward to please the customer base right now.

Don't let that statement steer you away from PSA -- their product and customer service, in my experience, is excellent.

Just picked up my second pair of PSA lowers from my FFL and they are perfect in appearance. Of the first pair one was built with a PSA classic LPK(no upper yet) and the second was with a PSA 16 inch rifle kit. It has run great thru aprox 250 rounds with out a problem. Just to add this was my first ever AR build and thought this would be a good way to learn.

My PSA lower, built from a stripped AP-serial number PSA lower and a standard PSA lower parts kit with standard trigger has been flawless so far. The trigger seems a bit better than most standard AR triggers (not light, but consistently smooth and crisp). The finish on the lower is nice and all parts went together well. It fits nice and tight with the Spikes upper I use on it.
