paper shotshells

Ran across some remington paper shotshells at a garage sale. The brass is very tarnished. Can I put them in the tumbler to shine up the brass or will they fall apart. The shells are solid and in good shape. I won't be shooting these. Only for decoration.

Maybe its paranoid, but I'd be nervous keeping old live shells as decoration. I think I'd find a way to render them inert before using them as decor.

You might just try emery cloth to shine up the brass. How many shells are you talking about?

Just polish them by hand. It reduces any risk and there's not that many of them anyway.

Just use steel wool on em................

Brasso and a soft cloth.

Clean by hand, tumbling them may break up the propellant giving unpredictable results.

Last time I bought new cardboard hull shells was 1971. After that the company went to plastic like all the rest.
