$75 to 100 off MIR. Slickguns has some super prices on their 1911's for those interested, Many in the 500 dollar range and less.
Take a look and tell me which you like, there is a Commander length Para for under 5 with rebate, and below dealer cost to start with on many.
So below dealer cost plus 100 off, is not bad if you were looking.

The trouble with the rebates is that it takes forever to get your money. I bought a Para right before memorial day and sent the form in right away. I'm still waiting for my $100.

These rebates are a clear sign these guns aren't selling well. Before this current rebate, the Remington deal was that they gave you 200 rounds of 45acp hollow point.

Could this finally be the end of the gov't model clones. The market was flooded years ago and new models still keep showing up. I look for the AR market and the 1911 market to crash at about the same time.

For many many years the conventional wisdom was that 1911s are complex designs and should cost more than other pistols. And the foreign 1911s had to be junk because they weren't expensive. After years of suspicion I think people have finally realized that the imports like the RIA are actually quality guns and this is driving down the price of the much more expensive American-made 1911s.

Or are these guns are not selling because of all the poor reviews. Many dissatisfied Para customers complaining of poor quality, misfitted parts and lack of customer service. I stopped shooting Paras a few years ago and hoped the move to the states may improve things. Still waiting.....just not holding my breath.

The para I have is a single stack. It runs great and looks good too. My problem with it was it shot 2 1/2" low at 20 yards. I sent the gun back to them on there dime. They said they replaced the barrel and the front sight which I think is BS. Their sights have green fiber rods in them. When I sent my gun I had put red rod in the sight. When the gun came back the paperwork said it had a new green fiber optic sight except it was red and looked like the sight that was in the gun. The gun still shot the same so I sent the slide to dawson precision and they installed the proper height sight. Dawson pretty much ate up my rebate money but the gun shoots to point of aim now.

Remington/Para are in trouble. Between multple Remington recalls and the intro of the R-51, , moving their operations and retooling, AND losing the faith of their previous customers, they are in deep doo-doo.

When dealing with Remington, they don't even speak for the Remington products. Statements like ,"We are told that........". "They told us to expect......"

THIS does NOT instill buyers with confidence.

what about those ddp discounts on the Para's on top of the rebates. I saw several guns near the thousand dollar mark, down to 5-6 hundred before the 100 dollar MIR? Are they that bad , or is it certain models? I was looking at the commanders, and they really dropped their drawers on the prices.
I know their CS always was poor. But are their any real deals there or would you stay away.
They had a Black ops, 1911, a day or 2 ago for under a thousand, without the rebate.
