Para Ordinance or Thompson Auto Ordinance?

I am trying to decide which gun I should buy. A thompson auto ordinance 5" 1911 45 acp government or a para ordinance GI expert. Any thoughts? I've heard good things about para but I haven't heard much about Thompson's 1911s

not my only two choices, just what I have been looking at in my price range

Between these two, the Para will be better machined and finished, but will also likely have a larger variance in the longevity of its parts (i.e. have more cast bits of unknown quality).

I would probably suggest looking at a lightly-used Springfield MilSpec for similar money. Locally, new MilSpecs are only $50 more than these two choices and the used ones commensurately cheaper.
