I just traded for this basically hopped up P-14. This is a double NOT a single stack 45. This particular model was only made available to deployed military personnel as far as I know. It has a rail, and Para's custom shop match grade barrel, hammer, and trigger. Trijicon night sights top it off.

So I've been searching all evening to see what other have to say and find opinions scattered all around.

I wanted to start
A 2014 Para Ordnance 1911 Thread
here that hopefully generate the latest and up to date information and discussions about the PARA 1911 likes and dislikes etc.

I think this gun looks great, will be hard to find before long and is a keeper. I understand it should be a stand-up 1911 and well worth the money. If anyone else has one they don't want, I'll take another one.
Here are a couple pictures of the gun!

Thanks to any of you that helps the thread along.
Information on old and new models welcome!

I just kinda fell over it, it just fit me and I wanted it. I will be shooting it as soon as we get the snow off the ground and I can travel a bit.

I like the new Black Ops potentially as an HD gun, with a light mounted to the rail and 14 rounds it'd be pretty potent. I wish wish WISH that someone made flat-bottomed mags for the P14 though...

Light for the P14

Do you know where I can find a light in the same color for my P14?
Thanks for the post also

I heard they were made for 3rd Marine group (sorry I was a doggie) . They are supposed to be very GTG with only minor massaging to be ready for battle. I want one! I have an old P-14 with every USGI AMU part I could stuff in and adopt to it. It runs like the Energizer bunny , but no light and extra serration ect.

I saw one at a show, came back to buy it and it was gone! It did not have the billboards on the sides, but it was stainless. I've looked everywhere since and could not find one, so I called Para and they said it was a very limited run.

So I bought the Black Ops to make myself feel better. I really wanted the stainless though! I have the stainless without the rail and it runs like a sewing machine - it eats everything.

Difference in the look on the Black

The look on the black is nice also, I think I would change out the grips or something.

This one I have with the lettering is the main that attracted me to buy this.

Again I can't wait to put a few rounds down the pipe. Put at the same time it's only had about 40 through it so far and I almost don;t want to shoot it anymore.

Catch 22!

I have a PO P-14 in .45 and also a P-16 in .40 (and a .357 SIG conversion barrel). Both are way old from when PO was in Canada. Both have been shot extensively (used in PPC games). Both are super reliable and very, very accurate. No complaints at all.

How many rounds

What's the most rounds you shot down the pipe in one visit to the range with your P-14 45?

350ish. No issues. The recently mfg mag followers may or may not cause some issues. The older ones have been flawless for me. The newer ones I have needed some light sanding around the lower edges. They were pretty sloppily molded and finished. If your mags give you trouble check the followers first.

200+ range at one time.

I started off with an early Canadian P14 45 where you had to send a coupon in for your 14 round mags. Later bought a warthog and a P16 40. Upgraded to the new stainless P14 45 with the fiber optic hiviz sights.

Loved every Para I've owned and no horror stories to report.

Sold/traded the older model, the warthog and the 40 - and now I have a Black Ops waiting for me at the LGS when I get home from this job (gonna be a long couple months)...

Anyone use these before in Para 45 Auto
