I'm glad to see that this might, just might have a happy ending. It's amazing to me that someone would accept a gun that costs almost a thousand bucks, and claims you should expect to have to work on it before it actually fuctions as it should! I wouldn't, and haven't, accepted it in anything I've ever had, my SS Colt Commander had an amazing amount of problems, and it went to Colt, twice, and they did nothing but scratch it up (It was new, less than 100 rounds through it when it went the first time, and didn't have a scratch on it!), and do a little polishing, nothing to actually fix the problem, a frame and slide horribly out of tolerance. I didn't keep it long at all. I've never had any guns except 1911's that were so far out of spec that they just didn't function. I've had a bunch of so called "junk" semiautos that just shot great. Yeah, they weren't as pretty as a high end 1911, but they didn't jam, either.
