O.K. I have a Parker Hale 30.06 that I am trying to find out more information on. I do not know the exact model, but it is serial #R65xxx. It was manufactured in England, but has an importer from Denvers name stamped into the barrel also. I got the gun as a gift from my Father about 8 years ago, and have had no luck searching the internet for info. Any help would be appreciated. (Exact model, mfg date, value, etc.) Thanks in advance.

Can you send me a picture of your rifle, I might be able to identify it for you.

take everything off of the rifle that you can, under a scope mount when I bought mine it was stamped J.C. PENNY'S. So it had to be about 40 ys old, maybe older, I think it was called the model 1200 or 1200 deluxe, but I think mine was a custom job , or factory custom for a 'guy that works there' job' , because it had some little diffs that could not be accounted for. such as the checkering, the spacers, the no end cap, the huge , slightly rounded beavertail forearm. , etc.

most of the P.H.'S were brought in an sold through dept. stores, such as penny's, monkey wards', sears, even western auto.

I have a PH 30.06 Bolt Action 1200C that I purhaced in 1976 and would not give it up for anything. I have hunted a variety of animals with success, and with the addition of a Leupold (sp) Gold Ring 3x9, gives outstanding accuracy..mind you I have never shot over 4x yet. On a good day at 100yds, 5 rounds fits nicely in the size of a quarter. Even tighter depending on the ammo. If I could find a new .270 for $400, I think I would snap it up in a heartbeat. It`s one of the flatest shooting rifles I have ever seen,,,excellent in the mountains for those long shots.
