Purchased a well used 1911 with parkerized finish. Has a number of dings and scratches on it. What can I do to touch up the finish short of having it completely refinished.
Parkerizing is one of the cheaper finishes to have done. You could probably have it done for under a $100. Most of the "touch up" things never work very well, if at all, and often make things look worse. Ive never see one specifically for parkerizing that I remember.
Or, you can leave it alone and enjoy the "character" marks.
Get a good evaluation of the pistol first, before you mess with the finish. It might have more value as it is than you think. Or it might be a beater, who knows. Got any photos?
