Just wondering where you all go to get your parts for you pistols. I have 2 pietta guns one an 1851 and the other an 1858. I have ordered parts from VTIgunparts.com before, and while the prices where good, their shipping was too slow. Any suggestions?

For Piettas, try dealing with Traditions (they import the Piettas and sell parts, or at least they did last year). For Uberti, try Taylors -same situation.
Both are "good people" to deal with.

You really don`t have a lot of choices .. VTI is probally the best .. dixiegun works also sells the parts ..but on the remmies they list the same part of all the different models .. so their parts may take a little more fitting .. of course they all will take some fitting .

Parts for 1858

For the 1858 Cabelas has the absolute best deal. Buy the kit for 19.95 and you get a replacement hammer, trigger, bolt, hand, bolt trigger spring and mainspring. That is a great deal. Hard to find on the website though. Go to hunting/optics then blackpowder then pistolsthen click on the 1858 Remington and it will show all of the guns of that type and at the bottom is the parts kit. I would have thought they would have it under accessories but they don't. I found it by accident.

That is a good deal from Cabelas .. and i can`t beleive i never noticed it .. too late for me i ordered 3 of everything from dixie last year ,,,and didn`t get a hammer or trigger .. just the small stuff , wish Cabelas had the screws too .. bought a kit with all the screws from dixie too .

I can get that parts pack for Pietta here, either the Remington or Colt, they are different. Cost is $21.69 for the Colt and $22.70 for the Pietta.

That's got to be a new thing, the parts kit. I've not seen it before today.
Bought mine well over a year ago. May have been 2-3 years in fact.
My Pietta has basically been an exercise in gunsmithing.
If I buy another cap-n-ball it will probably be a used Ruger if I can find one.
