It could have been a '61, I could be mistaken on that one. They look very similar to me, and I wanted a .44.

Well in the end I bought the Pietta 1860 Army.
I also got some Swiss NO.2 powder (the other stuff I have is FFG and NOT FFFG)

I got my 1860 a couple of days ago :)
Very happy but I'm yet to shoot it.

Looks alot more slick than the 1858.
When it arrived I stripped it down to clean it, the wedge wasn't any trouble which was nice.

Colt Dragoon is next on the shopping list!!!!!!!

Is there no THR 1860 club?

I do think owning both is the only viable solution. Does anyone know of an engraved reproduction 1860/61"

BP guns are like cars

I'd be hard pressed to choose one or the other, since you went for the 60 army, I think a 51 navy might be next:cool: then on to the Rems:D
BP guns are addictive. I'm pretty sure you'll end up buying both, and more...

Think of them like cars: the 1860, is the slick one, like an Italian sports car, while the 1851 is like a muscle car. Then you'll probably want the SUV version , the 1858 Remington, and then the small convertible, the 1862 police 5 shot.

Then you might consider the Hummer of BP: a Walker, and last but not least, you'll want the Hybrid: a LeMat.

Gotta have'em all !!! :D:D:D

The website that was listed has a lot more different guns than you can get in the US and not just black powder guns. I saw a .22 cal Trapdoor from Chippa, a full fluted cylinder for an 1858 Rem and a few other things I wish were available here. Kind of like a kid in a candy store.

I'm for both. Hahaha!!! Wait until you pick the Walker up. That 1860 is going to seem like a pocket pistol. Hahaha!!! Good thing is that BP guns are fairly cheap, so it's easy to own a bunch.

Fingers, nice! You could be Bill's brother.
