Recently I found a S&W Model 63 at a local pawn shop. It was wearing some oversize Pachmayr grips and sporting a few bumps and bruises. It was priced right around $300 so I decided to buy it. I took it the range and found that it would not hold an elevation adjustment. Later, I found that the elevation stud (really more of a pad) was missing from the frame. I sent it to Smith and Wesson to have a new one staked into place. Upon return, it is shooting really well, but I notice if you slowly cock it sometimes the cylinder doesn't index or/and the cylinder stop is a little flaky. Thinking a cleaning is in order I popped the side plate, but find the indexing issue is caused by a bent pin on the hand. The stop issue cleared up with a little stoning on the trigger. While it was apart, I decided to clean up the bumps and bruises to the finish (and added some target grips from an EBay auction as well). The finish is a light bead blast and I'm liking it a lot right now:)

I saw one the other day at a pawn shop, think they were asking 5 for it.

Nice pics btw

aHFo3 and gafirefighter,
Thanks:)
I would have sworn I took a photo of it before I shipped it back to S&W, but I can't locate it now:confused: It had the semi-shiny, brushed finish Smith puts on many of their stainless guns plus many fine scratches from holster and handling wear. There was a ding above the cylinder latch and one (on the same side) on the very end corner of the sight rib near the front sight:(
Regards,
Greg
