I keep thinking I should try out some of the more rare powders. PB comes to mind as one you rarely hear talk of.

Anyone use it? If so what is it good for any where have you had good or bad success with it?

Thanks

i have a friend that reloads it in some expensive old fox doubles because it supposedly develop much less pressure than other shotgun powders. what are you wanting to do with the PB? look it up on fox forums etc.

I've tried it in pistols and wasn't particularly impressed. For a stick powder it metered as well as a ball powder. I just didn't find it to be very versatile.

It's found it was very efficient in a .38 with 148gr DEWC. Good accuracy and velocity for volume of powder and pressure produced. I can get similar results from Universal but at a lower cost. Didn't care for it in 9mm or .45.

I think it's one the "better kept secrets" out there, and it's one of my favorites for .45 ACP. I've also had good results with it when loading .38 Special HBWC/DEWC. The only downside is that it is relatively expensive where I live- usually around $4.00/lb more than Bullseye or Unique.

I don't have a particular use for it, I just see it on the powder chart and wonder what I might use it for.

So it sounds like a good powder for the 38 special with 148's. Interesting. It is the same price as unique here which is why I was thinking about it.
