We had about 20 homes and autos vandalized last night on the eastside of my city.
The commonality between them was they were all displaying US Flags on their homes or vehicles.
Oddly enough, no homes without US Flags displayed were vandalized.
I see a pattern, that leads me to believe that "Peace Protesors" were somehow involved.
:fire: :fire: :fire: :fire:

I bet even the parents of these people wish they had chosen abortion, rather than birth these miscreants. :D

What's the "normal" vandalization quotient for that area?

That would be a "light night" in areas of some cities.

If I ever found out that my offspring was involved in such vandalism, I would do every thing I could short of physical abuse to make their lives a living hell.
Weather or not I agree with this war, this IS NOT the way to show it. I detest behaviour like this.

What is a legal and appropriate response if you catch someone vandalizing your home ? Obviously you can't shoot them, and I assume if you punched their lights out you'd be sued.

Almost no vandalism in that area on the average.
Some car busts, but not vandalism.
Cars had windows broken, but no thefts from them, that alone is odd as heck.
It is definitely out of the norm for that area and since their is a commonality to the victims, it seems that there was a reason for targeting those autos and homes.

if someone starts throwing rocks through my windows, i consider that a threat on my life. how am i to know that person just wants to damage my property? maybe they are really trying to bean me in the head with a rock/brick? do they know where i am in my house?

if they are just egging the place, well then i'm just going to wing 'em with the pellet gun. :fire:

Do they still sell those BB sub-machineguns?

Sounds like effective repellant for vandals.

If you catch them in the act...

Break out the PAINTBALL GUN! - Those things were originally developed for marking livestock for 'roundup' or 'culling':D :fire:
"I didn't get a look at them officer, but you might want to look for people who are Day-Glo Orange or Green!":neener:

Meg. you must have one hell of a freezer, because the freezing point of the gelatin etc in paintball fill is like -20F.... Of course theres so much water in there, that at 32 youd prolly get a fairly painful lump.

yo! Deltaelite - this is reaching back 30 years ago now but

back then my father was the administrator of a nursing home and hospital. they had some problems with kids messing with their signs. solved the problems by having someone liberally dose the signs with a powder that turned bright purple when exposed to water and semi-permanently stained the skin. Is that stuff still around, and if so could it be recommended to folks in the affected area?

just a thought,

Oh, they'll be purple all right!

Let them try it at my house. They'll think that the same bulldozer that ran over the stupid :cuss: in Palestine, hit them when I'm done.

GRRR!:fire: :fire: :fire: :fire:

Pops used to keep a paintball gun with frozen paintballs for these circumstances. Because we lived on a small southern townin Georgia , if you went into the local grocery store or movie theatre the next day or two -- you could usually find the culprits and talk with their parents -- and that's when a second dose of "parental instruction" was implemented.

All I know is that paintballs do not break nearly as easily when they are cold. From experience mind you...I suppose it is not the internal paint goo that freezes rather than the exterior shell that becomes less elastic as the temp drops.

FROZEN PAINT BALLS

Ummm, the point of using frozen paint balls is not to mark the perps with the filling of the paintball,... it is to bruise the perp so that the bruise serves as an identifier. Sheesh....
