Tang sight holes

If the holes are truly off center, they can be plugged and re-drilled on center. I have had some that it was the sight would be canted to one side and it was the sight base not the holes. That can be resolved by shimming the sight to see if it straightens it. Then you can either use the shims or file the base so it sits up straight. It is hard to tell in your picture if the holes are off center.

i see, after looking more carefully,it seems the design of the action is not symmetrical, and that the taps are more in line with the bore than i realized.stripped it down today, sight bored it and tapped the front sight a bit,i think with somw machinists levels and shims and small ratail file i'll get her where she needs to be.

Also make sure the tang screws don't interfere with the sight base, it should sit down against the tang itself.
