I have been eying this rifle for some time now and finally went out and got myself one. This is also called a Blue Ridge Rifle sold by Cabelas. I got it from the Cabelas in Wheeling WV. For $379.00 + Tax. I love this rifle, it looks and feels good. It comes with a 39 inch barrel and 1 in 48 twist. It is a great shooter and looker too.
I used 40 grs. American Pioneer Powder and #11 Remington caps. .440 with precut lubed patches where also used. Shots taken from 50 yards.
1st shot I pulled and it hit to the left. Next three shots landed perfectly in the middle. After the barrel got fouled it started shooting low, but still kept a nice group. The long barrel (39 inches) would get hard fouling at the very end and I believe that affected the accuracy. The patched RB would load hard after about 3 shots very hard for the first 5 inches, then would slide down a lot easier. I think by the end of the barrel the lube would run out or something and the fouling would get harder, or it could have been the APP. A very accurate gun in my opinion. I am going to take it out for another spin using hand casted R.E.A.L bullets. I have already used them once in this gun and they worked very well and didn't seem to be affected by the fouling as much. (Hole at top was used to hold the target, not a shot.)
