The LTCF allows the concealment, it does NOT make it necessary.

She was 100% right in her decision on open carry.

I don't advocate OC, but I know it is legal.

If she was accused of brandishing her gun then I doubt she would have got it back.

There is no such thing as brandishing under Pennsylvania law.

And furthermore, openly carrying a firearm is not even considered reasonable articulable suspicion in order to initiate a stop by a law enforcement officer in PA.

I don't know, with all of the ill will towards so many in the LE world, a case where a LEO knowingly violates a citizens civil rights might just be a jury's attention.

You can be absolutely sure that Meleanie's attorney is going to do whatever it takes to get the Sheriff's uncoerced public statements to the media admitted into evidence, ESPECIALLY if he's actually said that he'd do this AGAIN. Grandpa Simpson's hung himself already. I'm not sure Johnny Cochrane could have gotten this dolt off the hook.

If there's "all of the ill will towards so many in the LE world", it's PRECISELY because of imbeciles like Sheriff DeLeo. Cops HAVE to be MADE to understand that the law and their personal prejudices are distinctly DIFFERENT things, and that the latter CANNOT EVER trump the former. If that takes some of them losing everything they own, that's just the way it'll have to be. There are enough private sector criminals in our society. We don't need to supplement them with additional ones on publicly subsidized retainer.

I agree with most posts here. I truly hope this Fife ends up living in a cardboard box for his arrogance. At the same time I have to question this woman's judgment. I may be perfectly within my "legal rights" to show up alone at a KKK rally and yell *&^$ the Klan. Probably gonna do me more harm than good.

I have had my CWP since 1993. I carry everyday. I don't have the option of open carry and I would not even if it were an option. I kind of equate it to THR. We are in an all out war to keep our 2nd amendment rights. Maybe this woman should have taken THR and covered her sidearm when it became an issue. I say this because for everyone of us who think should fight it, there are probably 20 sheep that think the sheriff did the right thing.

Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.
