I placed a order back in January, and haven't seen any bullets yet
Their web site says to not bug us about orders, I thinking of cancelling my order and finding bullets elsewhere.
Any thoughts ?

Over 4 months ago since the last update was posted. I probably would have raised this question, 2 months after the last update, because its cast bullets. Not hard to produce. I'd say call or email and find out what's up, if you don't like the answer they give you then I would say cancel your order.

Never appropriate to be rude or unresponsive

I sent a brief note to Pres of penn bullets asking about lead time. OP answered that, but deeper issue!
I maintain this crazy time will go away. Our memories of how we were treated will also REMAIN.
Penn web site got me excited to try their product, and I have three guns that could consume a lot of lead, but if business is to good....I'll go elsewhere!
Oh... I never did get an answer.:banghead: Sooooo bye Penn!

Penn 'usually' has their 'standard' sizing on hand...

If you ordered an 'optional' sizing, it is my understanding that they only run those when they get 'enough' orders for that caliber/style/sizing in that specific alloy...

I have purchased from them in the past, and will again...

I've had the same experience. I have lots of his bullets and they're nice, but every time I start to put in another order I think about the problems I have had waiting on and canceling orders. If you don't need the bullets anytime soon and want to order some, go for it. Otherwise there are tons of people with better customer service and as good a product.

Some people like Penn & some don't.

I've NEVER heard anything bad about Missouri Bullet Co.
I don't know them, not related in any way, just a VERY happy customer.

Just be aware due to this crazy time it may take a week or 2 for them to ship.

Almost 6 months and no word? Sorry, but after 6 months I doubt if a e-mail or phone call about your order could be considered "bugging". Along with production, most reliable vendors have something called "customer service". To me, that rates as high on the list as the quality of their product. Many casters out there that produce a product as good as Penn. If you can find someone with what you want in stock or can give you a delivery time and Penn can't/won't, I'd say go for it.

My only response is for the OP to do some searching here and on other forums for previous posts on this issue and will leave it at that.

Exactly...........I had problems with Penn a couple years ago but that was then.

I've had good experiences with Penn. I emailed him the other day asking about his RNFP 200 grain bullets that arrived weighing an average of 212 grains, and he answered quickly. It is my understanding that it is him and a few other employees that run his company.

I like his product and his prices and can afford to wait for bullets, especially in these times. It is up to you on if you want to wait or not.

ETA: Just received my order I placed on 10 May. All of it was standard sizing and pretty common weights, styles, and calibers, so that may be affecting your order. My order was 500 each of his 152 grain .452 SWC, 180 grain .452 SWC, and his .358 DBBWC.

It is unfortunate when you have great bullet designs (SSK, Thunderheads), a quality lead alloy, dead on sizing diameters, and you don't want to communicate with your customers.

The saying goes that if you don't have time to talk to your customers, you won't have any customers to talk to.

Just my .02,

What you are reporting seems to be common with Penn for many years now. He always has an excuse and claims he will fix any problem if you give him a chance. Trouble is there are always problems and people get tired of always having to complain to get attention or service. After a while it's just not worth the trouble no matter how good a product might be.

Every so often it will blow up and he will apologize and things go smooth for a bit, then BAM it starts all over again.

I will contact Penn this week, I am concerned though that there is a shortage of lead caused by the DHS.

I tried Penn boolits last october; and received my order about 3 weeks ago. BUT, I did order a boolit in a special sizing and had to wait for them to get enough orders to make it worthwhile to run it. Emailed Bob a few times with my concerns and he always got right back to me. I think we also have to allow some time for all the craziness going on and being a pessimist, i doubt if things will ever return to normal. I did load up a batch of the 150s i ordered, and they performed well in the 30-30. Earlier posts said if you need the boolits right now or don't have time to wait on what you need, maybe you should look elsewhere. I had the time, didn't let myself run the stash down to the point where i was desperate, and was ok with the product i received. Right now i guess we have to go to where we can find it.

Mine took a very long time to get anything, and that was in slow times. That's all I'll say about it.

Good bullets, but I wouldn't order if you aren't prepared to wait a while (months).

I talked to Robert today. he is swamped.
I dropped one bullet style off my order, The other two will be shipped in a day or two.
It must be difficult in times like this, adding more equipment and hiring more help knowing things will cool off.
Thank you all for your responses.

+1 on Missouri Bullet Co. Good product, good prices, good to deal with.

They also offer a discount to military and LEO.

I received my order from Penn :) all is well with the exception of 500ct 140 LRNFP it seems that of a sampling of 100 bullets about 45% were sized at .3565 instead of .358".
I called Robert today and he said some were likely sized for 9mm, he said keep the bullets and salvage what you can and I will send 500ct that are correct :)
I realize mistakes happen and with the added work load and new help I am very pleased with Penn's customer service in resolving the problem.
