Pepper Spray?

Consider Air Taser

An Air Taser may be useful, depending on your social surroundings, but if it turns out you're in the wrong or premature in firing, the most they can get you for is "Assault With Intent To Barbeque".:)

I got a pepper spray that I bought called BodyGuard. I kept it in my pocket as an alternative to deadly force. One October night in Jacksonville, FL, my girlfriend, her 2 children and myself were at the fair. We were out of cash, and while I had a Sig 226 9mm and 5 mags (call me cautious), she had to go to an ATM in a bad area. I remember I couldn't go because she had the card/password, and I needed to stay with her kids. I handed her the BodyGuard pepperspray canister, briefed her on how it worked, then let her go. After 25 or so minutes she didn't return, so I told the kids to follow me, we're going to look for her.
I found her sobbing on a park bench, quite upset. She said that a cab pulled up and two men grabbed her and tried to stuff her in the cab. When she produced the spray, or at least at such time as they SAW the spray, they jumped in the cab and fled.
She started beating my chest with both hands, screaming "How do you get this stupid thing to work? I couldn't make it work!!"
I went to spray it into the night air, and a small cloud about the size of a peach spewed forth which may intimidate a humming bird, but not most men. We should have all just gone together, as there is safety in numbers.
I don't know for a fact, but I think that somehow the sprayer on this can was mixed up with a metered breath sprayer. That's Body Guard. BE SURE YOU TEST WHATEVER YOU GET!

Been there, done that..............

Folks,

I just posted another reply regarding pepper sprays.

As a police officer, I recommend going through the classes to get your individual Concealed Weapons Permit in your respective state.

Pepper spray only works under ideal conditions. I agree with GunSmith. Getting a blast of pepper spray that you deployed toward your intended target in the wind is not funny and could cost you your life.

Also, depending upon where you live, your pepper spray may be classified in the same category as carrying a weapon (pistol), and therefore, illegal. Depending on the outcome of the political race next year, getting your CWP may no longer be an option..............get it now, become efficient, stay safe.

Just my .02 worth,

HiVelocity in SC:cool:

I got one of the baton spray things years ago. I found it in a drawer recently, and couldn't remember what it was! Hmmm, what's this button... I sprayed it away from my face, but it still made my eyes water and throat burn. I had to get out of the house for an hour or so. I'm sure direct contact would be very effective.
