Probably has to find a new job. What was he thinking, defending himself like that?

rfwobbly,

i feel for you living in Atlanta. We try our best to steer clear of that place as much as possible. Now-a-days Macon is getting pretty bad too though.

you better believe id have an arsenal ready if i worked at a liquor store in atl.

Sounds like some of the good guys are winning finaly. Best part the ones that got away, when found should be charged with murder.

Unfortunately, LE's response to armed SD is very varied. The law has many interpretations, you can only pray that the authorities also see things your way.

I can only hope that if ,God forbid, I'm forced to defend myself I am as lucky as these guys.

I love the morons questioning the justification of shooting an armed robber.

Armed robbers should be shot dead. Period.

If I were delivering pizza I'd take only what I needed from my wallet (driver's license) and leave my own cash at home. Maybe a fake wallet filled with strips of newspaper would be a good idea. Let the crooks have the company's money and pass on the hassel of having to shoot some a.h. who richly deserved. ;)

Unfortunately, you may not have a choice in the matter. Seems like there are a bunch of pizza delivery and taxi drivers killed every year. Complying with the crook is no guarantee of safety. Crooks are shooting people because there isn't enough money in their wallets.

Yep if just 10% of the Gazelles were armed the lions and cheetahs would be looking for a different line of meat!

If I were ever in a situation where I had to decide whether to violently defend myself or not, the call would be made based on what I thought would lead to the highest probability of me living through the encounter; it would have nothing to do with protecting a few bucks in my pocket, whether they belonged to me or the pizza place. If protecting your wallet is the first priority, you don't need a gun since deciding to employ violence on your behalf is going to cost WAY more than whatever cash is on your person.

I hope the pizza guy comes out OK, but the part about how he got his weapon then followed the robbers, and then shot one, after the robbery happened, might not bode well for him. If he'd fired in self-defense during the robbery, that's OK. But to get a weapon and then go after them, might not work out well in his favor. JMHO.

Nonetheless, a dead maggot is a good maggot.

Note that the article says he retrieved his firearm for his vehicle, then followed them to get their license plate number.

At that time they pulled out a firearm on him, and he thus fired in self defense.

great job pizza delivery man!

reading some of the comments from the article, and it disgusts me how some people always take the sides of the criminals and feel bad they got caught or they justice was dealt upon them.
