Have PF9 that after about 15 rounds would not cycle and am not able to work the slide all the way back, stops with 5/8 to go so it will not take down either.

Any ideas besides sending it back to kel-tec?

Thanks,

Al

Just curious did you take the slide off to clean/lube the gun? The slide pin can be inserted into the wrong position. Just a thought. Although probably not likely if you got through 15 rounds.

Got the slide off, check it out,

A new ejector is $1.50. I think I will replace it and sell it.

Anyone looking for a PF9? :)

yowsa! That is a little scary. They will of course fix it if you are the original owner.

I recently bought a new PF9. Mine wouldn't extract. I worked it over a little. We shall see. I hope I didn't make a mistake.

How the heck did you get it apart with the ejector pretzeled like that?!

fisheral87 Did you take it apart and clean and lube correctly before shooting it.. If your in western NC or eastern TN i will buy it cheap.

Bet a hammer was use to get it apart hehehe

I sold one that had 2000 rounds fired with zero problems. Carry a kahr now

New KT owners go to KTOG and read the info there on fluff and buff, lube chart and clean that sucker be fore shooting it. Debure and clean the mags too. I did not do any fluffing but cleaned off the caseing lines and looked for any sharp edges to smooth over, lube the rails and grease the assembly pin, top of barrel at the locking lug and wear areas in general. But i do that to ever pistol.

Also for newbes. Get and old skinny bike inner tube. Cut thin to wide strips 1/2" to 1 1/2" to slip on the grip to help with holding on to it during new gun during break in. Many guys put a slip on grip helper but the bike tube is cheaper and can be built out a bit for better grip at least till your comfy with the light weight and recoil.

I am the second owner. I cleaned and lubed it before use because I had done research on it being fickle.

Luckily, a hammer was not used. :)

The slide would slide back just enough to sneak the take down pin out. Then it was a matter of depressing the extractor to get the slide off.

I'm way over on the west coast, sorry fellas.

FYI, was running the Walmart special, UMC 9mm not sure if it is one of the recommended brands. My M&P ate it like candy. Might be a 9c in my future.

Anyone ever gone through the process of changing the extractor on the PF9? Doable?

Cheers,

Al

Mine has 1000 rounds w/o one hiccup. That's my occasional summer carry.
send it to keltec. they will fix it w/o hesitation and be very happy you reported any issues. Maybe they had a manufacturing issue.

Anywhere near Tucson? I'll take it off your hands. Mine's had at least 500 of the cheapest rounds I could find with no issues.

fisheral87 Not a new pistol. There is allways a chance of buying a gun that the first owner messed up. Contact KT and see what they can do to help out with a new extractor but look that suck over real good , maybe a new recoil spring assemble and try one more time before you send it back tot hem. I have also used umc box ammo with no problems but next time get some 124gr anybody else just to try. The ole boy that had it before might have missed up the pistol. That are a lot of people that just should not own firearms,to stupid to read the manuals or do basic cleaning on a new one. You might have ended up with one of those. Check the serial number too so you will know when it was made, there my be some up grade part for it.

I never had an issue with any keltecs (proudly made in the USA) but one person I know had to sent something in and all he said is great customer service. Not instant but reasonable and WAY much better than the big firms. I will bring it up to their attention. Something is not right.

Kel-tec sent me a brand new extractor. Got it put in now I need to run it through it's paces and see if it holds up this time.

Will post results.

Al
