Unless my work schedule changes drastically, and it often does, I plan on shooting and instructing Sunday morn, starting between 10 and 11 AM.

Some folks here have been meeting me there, and they're certainly welcome. However, there's been a few inquiries from absolute newbies. These folks are also quite welcome Sunday. We'll shoot a little trap, and maybe some wobble trap too.

Besides my trap gun, I'll bring another 870 for those sans shotgun, and Son's little NEF single for kids and pixies.

New shooters will need eye and ear protection. This is mandatory.

Trap tickets, good for one 25 shot round of trap or skeet, cost $3.95 each or $32 for a book of ten.

Ammo can be purchased there at good prices. The Fiocchi 7/8 oz light load is great low recoil training ammo and not expensive.

New shooters, look for a large middle aged man wearing a dark blue hat saying Md Division of Correction.

Dress warmly....

Dave,

I'm out of commission for the next couple of weeks......too much stuff at school and with three snow days we're in a world of hurt....I tell you, this whole job thing sure gets in the way of my shooting:D

Hi Dave,

Is there a age limit for children shooters at PG?
I thought I read there was some limitations on age and barrel length at this facility.

My daughter is 9 years old and has taken the training course previously at Bull Run. She is still learning but shoots with John and I when we go on the weekends. She has a fitted Remington 870 youth in 20 gauge with an 18.5 inch barrel. Right now she is only comfortable with shooting a single shot at a time during wobble, but this wouldn't apply to trap.

Thank you!

Dave;

I'll try and make it. BTW, do you give reloading lessons too? Just bought a MEC 600 on ebay. It probably should arrive next week.

Norton, take heart. The way things are shaping up, this will be a fairly steady thing. Exception, second Sunday each month, when I plan on shooting at AGC. The OTHER Maryland shoot mentioned a few weeks back.

Anapex, see above. When you can...

315, welcome aboard. See ya.

John and Sara, no age limit I know of. but barrels have to be at least 23". It's so much Caca Del Toro, IMO. However, she should be able to handle the little NEF Marie shot that time.13" LOP,IIRC.

I'll look for you, Mike. No reloading lessons yet, still learning myself. I will help you with specific questions if you'd like.

Dave, I sometimes wish I was on the other side of the coast so I can take a sunday to shoot w/ all of ya. :D

Sounds like quite a lotta fun, and these posts make me jealous! Plus I think it'd be great to get some quality instruction on clay shooting.

Have fun all! :)

Black Majik, it is fun. As for quality instruction, I'm certainly no expert. I do get folks started off safely and actually hitting some. After that, they move past my level of teaching expertise fairly fast.

00, looking forward to seeing you.

Look for me, Nico. I just checked the weather, the wind chill is a mild 3F. Hope it warms up a little....

missed you guys

i couldn't find anyone. i was from 10:15 - 11:15 am. PGC was so much bigger than i imagined and there were a lot of people. i ask a bunch of people but no one knew anything. i was trying to look for someone shooting a pump shot gun with blue cap, but i couldn't find anyone. not many pump gun shooters. i was the asian guy in a black wool coat.

needless to say i was disappointed. hope we can try it again sometime. still, it was nice to watch how things work. i've never really gone to watch shotgun sports. it seemed so fun.

I was afraid that would happen. The league shoot not only filled the area with large middle aged men, but shunted the practice traps up to ranges 10 and 11. I wondered if anyone missed me thereby.

I'm very sorry, we'll do this again soon.

Also, I got there about 10:30/ If work allows, I'll be there earlier.
