Physical fitness standards for Ranger school

Heh, David you need to read the section in "Enter The Kettlebell" titled "It's Your Fault!" (if you get hurt):D Actually, this is a great book if you don't have it already...what the origional RKC book should have been.

I just hurt my back a little by bending backwards looking through a .50 M2 barrel I was cleaning. I'm an idiot, "it was my fault" , I never would have lifted a weight or KB that way. In ETK, Pavel mentions it is easy to hurt your shoulder starting out with KBs through overuse and recommends snatches only 1 day a week and on the light day. You can do swings until you puke however, as long as you have good form. Turkish get ups are good for shoulders as you are just stabalizing the KB with it while getting up.

Our Ranger School bound comrade should just throw a KB in his rucksack and move out! March a mile, pull it out and do 50 swings, march another mile, do 20 snatches, march another mile then 20 russian twists....that would be evil. Great, now that I just thought that torture up...my warped mind is gonna have me out in the desert doing it...stupid, stupid! Note to self; don't think up anymore evil exercises even if just joking!

Dragongoddess,

Well as an old person in their lates 30's I was averaging 5min miles over a 5 mile course

I have a rather difficult time believing you exceeded the maximum possible run score for a female in your age group by almost 60%- over 60% further distance.

Now, you could be the ultimate female pt god, but what are the chances? Do you have ANY proof of this? The current female world record 1 mile is 4:12.56. You must run professionally, since you are literally WORLD CLASS. What awards have you won? Newspaper clippings (feel free to scan), web links? Hell, I'd be bragging if I were you, too, so let's see 'em.

No I was in a group that was training for a half marathon. That was the day I nearly keeled over. We were doing great. We were running near the flag pole on Ft. Bliss, you know over there by Col's row when the cannon went off. We stopped. Saluted the flag and I nearly passed out. Another few seconds and I would have. My system just had a great deal of difficulty going from flat out to a dead stop. But on to your question.

No I'm no professional athlete but the one in charge of our little group had run many a marathon to include an Iron Man. No I had no idea the 5 min mile was significant. I was just a PFC who joined the team to represent the Company in the half marathon the Post was sponsoring.

I have just checked my messages. Sorry about not checking sooner but I have other things to do. Like my political forum this morning where we had our State Senator and his opponent for the up coming election sit for questions from the Public.

A Moderator, MattG in a message has questioned my honesty as has John Shirley another moderator.

SO here goes.

I served my country for 13 years in the following MOS's
26H, 24T and 77L.

26H ( also taught Digital Theory as an instructor at Ft. Bliss Texas)
24T ( worked on both the civilian side and military side as an evaluator of Weapon Systems and operator of Weapon Systems under development at WSMR, NM.)

You know there is no reson why I have to prove anything to you or anyone else. Hope this helps and I'm sorry you feel threatened by me.

Oh the result of the marthon. Well about 3 weeks before the event I discovered I couldn't walk very well one morning when I got up. Went to sick call and after x-rays on both legs I was informed I had stress fractures in both legs. I was put on profile. No running. Days before the event I got the doctor to change the profile from no running to run at my own pace.

I ran the Half Marthon and I finished it.Three hours after everbody else but I finished it.

Questioned your honesty?

YOU made your past performance an issue by mentioning it. YOU mention somewhat incredible standards, in the process of freely dispensing advice and criticism. If someone said they fired x score at 1000 meters, and gave advice, it wouldn't be out of line for someone to ask for proof of performance, to help know if they were getting good advice.

FWIW, you haven't given any proof, Private messages are called "private" for a reason, threatened by you? Heh. Anyone can be anything on the internet. Me? Half the staff knows me, including the owner and head admin. They've seen my orders. They've known my whole saga for years.

You? No-one knows you. Anyone is anything on the net...without proof.

This conversation is best conducted by private message. It's considered bad form to post the contents or a summarization of a private message on an open forum without the sender's permission.

I know JShirley and I know he is who the says he is. He also posts under his own name as I do. I don't know dragongoddess. There are all kinds of people who assume all kinds of identities through on the internet.

It's SOP here in Strategies and Tactics for a person to reveal his/her bonafides when they start making claims of experience, knowledge and abilities that seem rather out of the ordinary. I'm closing this thread. dragongoddess, please PM or email me with your bonafides. I'm retired from the Army and can verify through AKO.
