my Remington 870 12ga with a pistol grip to change out from hunting to defence...

my Savage .30-06 bolt action it has a high power scope... to reach out and touch someone..

and for CCW hmm just one?..... :( perhaps a HK USPC in .45

very hard,

Rem 870 pump,

Browning Hi Power 9mm

Rifle, hmmm, probably an M1, (the other two I own, dang!)

thought provoking though, thanks

The premise:

I can only have one rifle (any action) one shotgun (again, any action) and one handgun (wheel or autofeed).

These firearms will have to last me as long as I live.

I don't want exotic.

I don't want complicated.

S&W 657 .41 mag...Powerful enough to do anything I need to do.

Winchester '97...My '97 works very well and there are tons of parts to be had.

Springfield M1 A....30 cal, lot of ammo and parts out there.

I'm going to go against the flow a bit and say...

Handgun - Ruger Super Blackhawk .44mag in 10.5" barrel
(I'm a big guy, so if I absolutely HAD to conceal it, I'd find a way.)
Rifle - Henry lever .22lr
Shotgun - Rem. 870, garden variety... but I'd quickly swap my shotgun stamp for a Marlin lever in .35 Rem or 45/70.

Handgun would be a S&W 19 K frame 3" barrel with a round grip.
Rifle would be a Marlin 1894c
Shotgun would be a S&W 35 J frame 6" barrel. I can shoot 22lr shot thru it for snakes but would prefer to shoot slugs for small game and fowl, I know it's a handshotgun, but I really do not care for shotguns.

If I lived out west I would want a S&W 58 and a Marlin 1894 in a C configuration, 18 in barrel and straight stock in 41 mag

I wanna play too.

Handgun - don't know a lot about these. Like the looks of Hipowers.

Rife - one of them enfield actions converted to 7.62x39 in a synthetic stock that takes AK mags.

Shotgun - a fine British made side by side. It's in my blood.

St. Johns,

You can't play, you're ENGLISH! You have to stand aside and appear disinterested.

Handgun: S&W Model of 1950 45 ACP
Shotgun: Remington 870
Rifle: Pre'64 Winchester Model 70 30-06

With "The rest of your life" thrown in there I'm going to have to consider what might be. I could end up with arthritis, or in a weakened elderly state where I might not be able to rack the slide on a .45 with a 16#. In that case my choices will be:

1, 4" Ruger GP100 .357/.38
2, Remington 870
3, Savage model 10 in .243 or a Rem 700 in 7mm-08.

1) VEPR K 7.62x39
2) P226 9mm
3) I'm not familiar with shotguns, but probably a classic 870 pump or something along that line... plain vanilla shotgun.

My three gun arsenal (which I actually have) :

pistol: Glock 21
rifle: S/A SOCOM 16
shotgun: Rem 870 18"

These three will do just fine. :)

Hmmmmm...

1st the Easy Choice - Rem 870 with 21" bbl

Toss up between 1911 and S&W 686 with a slight preference for the 1911

Toss up between M1 Garand and a more handy lever action chambered in 45-70 (is there such a thing?).

I usually don't play the what if games, but this one is interesting and easy

1911, prolly a Kimber
Ithaca 37 in 12 ga
Rem 700 VS in .308

sundog

Handgun: 6" Smith & Wesson model 686 .357 magnum

Rifle: Remington model 700 BDL (wood/blue) in .25-06 Remington

Shotgun: Remington 12 gague 870 Marine Magnum

Its that simple, as all are quality firearms at affordable prices!

Best Wishes,

Assuming that the Lord, my shepherd watches over me and helps me refrain from doing something absolutely stupid and that I remain in good physical health:

- Glock 34
- Benelli M1S90 12ga w/18.5" barrel, rifle sights, straight stock & +4 extension
- AR15 w/Colt flattop upper and 20" A2 profiled barrel

I'll play

Remington 870 Wingmaster
Weatherby ultralight .338-06
Ruger .45 Bisley

Not much for social situations, but that's what I'd want to shoot/carry for all eternity. I only currently have the Ruger.
