Pick only 3 pistols

Actually, I don't own that Kel-Tec. :( It'll be a while before I get around to getting one because there are other projects I feel are more important (rifles). Someday! I find it ugly as heck, but I think I would find it to be the most fun target/varmint handgun on the market. LOL

My minimum essential number is 3. These are what I have and the roles they fill:

1.) Kimber Eclipse Custom II in 10mm. =Heavy caliber platform for woods/carry/house duty.

2.)1950 Colt Detective Special in .38special =Compact service caliber platform for ''polite society.''

3.)1957 Ruger Single Six (original lock work) in .22lr. =.22lr, a must have, in any collection. Great fun, and cheap and fun.

But...
If I could only have one. Probobaly a 3" S&W model 65.

Glock 19 3rd gen
Glock 26 3rd gen
These two because ammo is cheap and I can practice alot.
Last but not least Seecamp 32 acp. The only gun I want to carry all day long.

Glock 19 - high cap, easy to shoot and carry if need be. Ammo is also plentiful, it's dead nuts reliable and easy to maintain.

S&W 637 - Go any where gun that I can't live with out.

Ruger New Vaquero .357 - I need to have a fun gun.

If you could own only 3 pistols what would they be and why.
S&W Model 617, .22LR, 6-inch - Target & Small Game
S&W Model 686, .357Mag, 4-inch - Self-Defence, Medium Game
Glock 19, 9mmP - Concealed carry, self-defence.

I'll play. To keep things simple I will stick to one cartridge, the 45 acp. As for pistols, they are listed below.

Sig 220 - I just love the way it feels in my hand.
Glock 30 - good carry gun. Based on ammo capacity and weight.
Glock 21 - good carry gun. Can use these mags in my Glock 31. I'm a big believer in at least two guns when u carry.

Cz 75 with kadet kit 9mm/22lr
Ruger single six 22lr/wmr
Ruger Blackhawk .357/.38/9mm
All versatile, rugged, fun, and reliable.

1. Not a Glock
2. Not a Glock
3. Not a Highpoint

You thought I was going to say "Not a Glock" for #3..... didn't ya!

If I could only have three:

Sig P210 with .22 kit (if only two) full size / range gun
HK P7 (if only one) EDC
Walther PPK/L .32 (if only two) smaller, lighter

Three from the safe:

FN Hi-Power SFS with .22 kit
HK P7
Walther PPK .380

When I only had three:

Beretta 92fs
S&W 3914
beretta 21a

Glock 19 Good carry gun, I like the way it shoots, ammunition is plentiful.
1911 A1 Good stopping power, I like it better than the Glock but too heavy for daily carry.
High Standard FK 101 Field King Because I have one and like the way it shoots. 6 inch ported barrel and is a good small game gun.

"Pick only 3 pistols
If you could own only 3 pistols what would they be and why.

1. Glock 26- fits all my carry need and will take 26,17 and 19 mags

2. Glock 19c- It does everything I want it to

3. Glock 34- Just cause

Glocks are fair priced, they will always shoot and you can "on the cheap" do what ever you want to them."

Guess you weren't around when Gaston G. was buying his way into LEO's by offering his guns for near cost, which was around 150.00.

Isn't the 19c and 34 redundant? I can see the 26 and 34, but not the 19c.

My tastes run a bit higher:

or the Executive Target

And I'd have to have a custom Jack Huntington FA 83
either in .475 Linebaugh or .500JRH.

On the otherhand, a custom Ruger in .500 Maximum might be in there, just because it shoots both .500 Max, and .500 Linebaugh, and .510 GNR.
Also custom by JRH Custom Gunmsmithing.

Or maybe this .41

And then you need a .22 LR
Would have to be a Colt Trooper:

Dont forget the .357 Snub, and everyone needs a .45 Colt.

I currently own them & a few more, but if I had to chop the collection:

1) S&W 642 (formerly dad's)

2) S&W 686 Power Port (formerly dad's)

3) Beretta 92FS Inox

3 pcs of SIG 47/8 - P210 :neener:
...and a coulple of revolvers of difrent size, make and caliber

Glock 26 - ten reliable rounds in a convenient carry package
H&K P7M13 - thirteen reliable rounds, very safe design, ambi, and will act as a brick when empty for further fighting
FNH FiveSeven - ten or twenty rounds with long-range, ambi, low accidental penetration, and low noise/low recoil

(oh, I'm left-handed)
bonus round:

H&K MP5 Pistol (instead of the FNH) - ten to thirty 9mm rounds, superior range, can be shot accurately if need be, if not, it's still an awesome design. Solves the 'unified cartridge theory' conundrum.

To me, when there is a 'limit', it implies the need for pragmatism and practicality. To me, that is self-defense. A topic that is typically not at the top of my list. But for this exercise it is.

Excellent point. One thing I noticed on this thread is that many people pick 3 pistols for the same use -- usually self-defense. It makes you wonder why?
