Why aren't FNH pistols popular?

After spending some time with my FNX-40, I can see several reasons why they're not widely popular in the professional markets.

First off, I have issue with the safety/decocker lever. It's uncomfortable. It sits right where I want to put my thumb. If I try to ride the lever, the back digs into the base of my thumb. Also, when I activate the slide lock, it's easy to accidentally set the safety on.

More importantly, the SA sear/hammer interface is a bit iffy. You can pull the trigger halfway and let go, and the sear doesn't reset all the way. If you pull back on the hammer, you can hear a click as the sear finally resets. This isn't the kind of action I expect on a high quality firearm.

The mag release is completely unacceptable for a duty weapon, IMO. It's too large. It sticks out too far. And it requires too little pressure and movement to accidentally eject a mag. Due to the design, it cannot be made smaller to any significant degree.

Lastly, you have to pay $5.00 for a new right side decocker lever every time you detail strip this gun.

It makes a good range gun, if you can get one at a good price. But I wouldn't be happy to pay full retail, and I wouldn't want to carry one if my life depended on it.
