The tangent sighted HiPowers were originally meant to be capable of accepting a shoulder stock and being used as an improvised carbine, hence the extreme elevation settings-
Congrats, Jeff, HiPowers are in a league of their own. Enjoy!
Nice Hi-Power! Love the old time look of the rear tangent sights! I think these were made in limited numbers starting in the early '90s through to the early '00s. I have also seen it called the El Capitan Model and have come across some that were slotted for a shoulder stock but were never sold with one.
If you look at the roll mark you can tell this is an MKIII era BHP made in the 1990s. The other giveaway is the ambi thumb safety.
If you put a stock on this gun you would be making an SBR. IIRC thirty don’t have the slot for the stock anyway.
Guns produced before the NFA with the “original” stock are grandfathered. If you put a reproduction on it you are making an SBR no matter how old the gun is. Also put an Inglis stock on a FN you have the same problem.
