Well, the Range Officer is new anyways... The PPS had 50 rounds through it, but looks new to me. :D

I knew I needed a solid 1911, but didn't want to pay too much money for one. The Range Officer just fit the bill perfectly in terms of features and price. Actually, it only cost me $300! My awesome new mother-in-law got me a $500 Gander Mountain gift card for Christmas. Needless to say, I was :what: :D and knew right away which gun I would be putting it towards! After talking them down a bit on the price (Gander is usually a little overpriced), I walked out paying just over $800 after taxes and they even threw in their lifetime protection plan, which supposedly includes free shipping back to the manufacturer if there is ever a warranty issue.

As for the PPS, I didn't get so lucky when it came time to buy this one. I actually coughed up a bit more than I wanted to for the OD green frame ($625 OTD), but considering the Range Officer didn't set me back too much, I said what the heck and bought what my heart really wanted!

I already jumped the gun and ordered some Meprolights for the PPS and a Harrison HD-002 fixed rear for the Range Officer. Once I figure out what the ideal front sight height is for the RO, I plan on replacing the current one with a 10-8 brass bead front. The RO will also get a new MSH and grip safety eventually, but I haven't decided what I want yet.

I haven't been able to shoot either of them yet. It's KILLING ME!!!! Might try to get out of work a bit early tomorrow to do some shooting! Range report to follow. A crappy indoor pic for now because what's a thread without a pic?

If you are like me, you will be surprised how accurately you can shoot with that little PPS! I had one in 9mm and 40, they both were very accurate and easy to shoot. They look great, enjoy!
