WOW. Gotta say that is downright awful. :barf:

My RRA much much nicer. Heck, most others I've looked at getting have been way better than that.

Congrats on the new AR btw Dog. Hope yours looks better than the one W.E.G. posted.

Great rifle, but if the rifle looks like the pic W.E.G. posted, you need to call Colt and make them fix the finish.

I really hate to say it, sorry, at $1800 you got nailed.

TopGunSupply sells them for $1679, and the OP paid $1800...

Not too bad, I'd say. Remember it's a monolithic rail upper and not a regular 6920.

Hope the OP's finish is good, and if not, that Colt fixes it.

Good choice in rifles. I love my 6940. Probably have 2500 rounds through mine so far. As for he people trying to crap in your thread: While I agree that it was bad for Colt to let that one slip through, I would also bet it is still more functionally sound than RRA, etc.

Let us know how your new baby shoots and what upgrades you are going to do to it.

My eyes are getting bad, I did not see where he mentioned rails, OP if it came with rails then that isnt that bad of price.
By definition, 6940s have the monolithic rail (upper and rail are one piece). Otherwise it'd be a 6920. Pretty cool, IMO, and I was really surprised that Colt would be so "innovative."

But yeah, I'd be pissed if the lower on my expensive, purportedly cream of the AR-15 crop, closest you can get to a real M-4, Colt looked like that picture above. My $99 Doublestar lowers all looked better than that -- the only marks are the ones I put there when building my lowers :D

The finish on my 6940 is not perfect, but

it is nothing like the one in the picture. If you look very closely at that receiver in this area you can see some small vertical striations, but you really have to examine the gun closely to notice them. Also, for Gunnerpalace $1800 OTD is $1682 plus tax.
