Picked up a new Milsurp....

Got this (description below) from an auction. Wanted a Model 98K German but wouldn't pay the price. This gun is as good as its description.

Need to clean the grease off (any advice on that appreciated) and get it shooting. Have two boxes of ammo. I have NEVER shot an 8mm before.

Yugoslavian-Gun Parts Corp. mod. 24/47. Import marked bolt action model 98 style Mauser military rifle chambered in 8X57mm. Matching numbers and the original configuration. 24” barrel has an excellent bore. Excellent action. 100% clean refurbish blue. Excellent stock and hand guard. Correct butt plate and sling swivels. Rifle has yet to be de-greased and will be an excellent example when cleaned. Includes the importer’s carton, papers and a bunch of accessories.

How much did you pay for it and where did you get it( if you dont mind me asking). Diesel will cut that grease off then rem oil or what ever you use after that.

Nope, sorry. Don't have any 8mm Lebel (excepting 1 round of balle-D in my cartridge collection) ammo or a rifle for it.

Yes it is, a restored ex-sporter No4mk1. One of two I have now.
