Picked up a Stevens 320 field 12ga for cheap

I was at Cabelas yesterday looking over the used guns, looking for a hunting shotgun. I found a used Stevens 320 field 12ga for $179. They go for $260 new at Cabelas.

I brought the gun to the counter and said I wanted to purchase it, and the guy at the counter said, "I think I have one of those new in the box"

He came back with a "used" one new in the box, for the same price of $179!

I had $87 in Cabelas credit, so I ended up with a brand new, unfired shotgun for under $100 out the door!

Cabelas has gone downhill since Bass Pro bought them out, but that was a good deal.

You're right on both accounts. Cabela's lost all their Class since BP took over, and you got a great buy.

I went into our local Verdi NV store about two months after BP had taken over to see that the employees I had gotten to know were all gone. The new employees (fewer in number now on the floor) were not of the same quality or knowledge. The stock of anything quality was mostly gone, and I've not made the drive there again.

Yeah, it's unfortunate. The one by me used to have the "bargain cave" which had a ton of open box and clearance stuff for cheap. I got a lot of stuff there for a good deal, but when Bass Pro took over, they shut down the bargain cave...

I've only been to a few different Cabela's stores, but I seem to recall they once had at least one box of just about every caliber of ammo known to man. Now? It feels like 50% or more of whatever they have is 5.56 or .308.

Cabelas aint what they used to be.
The ol lady likes to shop at a couple stores nearby and we hit a certain restaurant while there.

She MAKES me go to Cabelas....... for the sour cherry candy. Not kidding.
Local stores don't carry anything similar, havent for over a yr.

Need to see if they have a Vanguard for me to check out, their version, may order one in .257
Haven't seen their color combo in the flesh yet.
Dr crap in the big city will have me nearby.

Last time they had a used Browning Citori for reasonable. Surprised it was still there.

Sometimes you can find some nice deals on the used gun rack .in the end at gander mountain they were so high you could buy new

We had a bass pro and a cabelas 5 minutes apart. Never went to one that I didn't check the other.

I do miss the cave.

I got an sxp last year for free with my points on black Friday week. Figured I'd use it for a loaner someday. Feel the same on the 320. Plenty usable shotguns

Yeah. I just needed a hunting shotgun, all my other shotguns weren't suitable for hunting. The 320 was the cheapest field gun I could find there.

I won't spend a dime of my money at Cabela's/ Bass Pro.
All their guns , reloading equipment and components are ridiculously priced.

The 320 i have is not choked. Mine is a security model. Im not sure if all 320's are not choked.
Mine is like the one in the pic.

Mine has removable chokes. I think Winchester pattern.
