Well, I picked up my new TRP today and I cannot wait to get it to the range. I do have some early thoughts on the gun. First off, the gun is very well fitted. The barrel to slide fit is perfect. There is no play in the barrel what so ever. The slide to frame fit is also pretty good. There is just a tiny bit of play netween the frame and the slide. Just to put it into perspective, the gun is tighter than my Kimber 25th Custom, but not nearly as tight as my custom built Spinger. The guns slide to frame fit is actually very simillar to my roomates Ed Brown Kobra Carry. While on the subject, everything on this gun is fitted very well. It is obvious that someone spent alot of time putting this gun together.

Now to the somewhat dissapointing parts. The Magazines do not feel very well made. I have already replaced the Springs and followers with Wilson parts. In my limited experience, this fixes most magazines. Hopefully this works again. I am also disappointed in some of the tool marks visable around the trigger guard. Every other part of this gun is so well finished that this seems like an oversight. IMHO Springfield should have spent a little more time removing these tool marks. The two peice guide rod is terrible. I have already replaced it with Ed Brown original GI style parts.

All in all, I am very happy with the gun. If it is a shooter I think I have a winner. I will post a range report after I get back from the range tomorrow.
