Nice thing about Springfield M1A's is you can add as many GI parts to them as you want to. I have complete H&R trigger group in my Squad Scout. The stock is from Fred's M14 stocks.

The answer for me is a M1A. I have a Garand and I love shooting it and the M1A is just an evolution of the Garand.

Lightweight, reliable, and have great service history. Its also compact with the folding stock mech.

If you've ever held one, it almost feels like a toy because its so light for a 308.
