I can't quite see in the pictures, what caliber is it?

Also, it might just be the perspective of the pictures, but the grip looks pretty slender (which is a good thing, I've got dinky paws), how many rounds will standard mags hold?

Sweet!

What's this button in front and above of the trigger guard? Some smart-gun security device like the Steyr?

Also, is the frame plastic?

It does look a bit like the P99, but the back is distinctly Berettish.

Enjoy your new toy! Let us know how it does on the range.

That's really nice looking! Is that a decocker/safety like the 92's, or just a decocker?

Reminds me a little of the Vektor CP-1... swoopy-like.

Neat looking pistol. How does it shoot?

Personally I think it looks ugly. I also think the 9000s looks ugly too.

Also I dislike any firearm with permanent writing that states: "Retract Slide to see if loaded / fires withought magazine / Read manual before use"

However if it feels right, and shoots true, nothing wrong with that gun!

I have a friend who desperately wants one of these.... he's been told by the local gun shops that these just aren't available for civilians yet---that LEO orders still haven't been filled.

If you don't mind my asking... how/where did you manage to get ahold of one of these? Bob's wanting one baaad....

Do they come with the different back strap inserts? I am unclear from the Beretta web site.

Currently, no they do not. The ones currently for sale in the U.S. -were- an excess of LE marked models. They've been relabeled for civilian sale by the distributors.

According to Beretta, the backstraps are being packaged and should hit the market in about a week and a half.

Well, I bought mine from Cheaper Than Dirt in Fort Worth, TX a week ago today. Cost was 479.97 plus tax. I have a friend who bought one from Bachman Pawn and Gun in Dallas, TX earlier this past Wednesday. Cost was 499.99 plus tax.

You might try contacting Bachman Pawn in Dallas. They sell through some of the auctions sites, and do ship out of state to your FFL. They do NOT have a web site though. Their number is (214) 351-3628. Cheaper Than Dirt is currently out of stock.

Both of these retailers did follow Beretta's instructions, however, and remove the third magazine.

Then you have Gunbroker.com.

Auction Arms and Guns America have been selling them like hotcakes. I've seen PX4's bought within 2 hours on both of those sites.

Looks like a take-down button to me--that's about what it looks like on a Glock.

It is. There's a small lever on both sides of the weapon that have to be pulled down in concert. This lowers a small locking bar from the central block, allowing you to remove the side.

It's kind of funny putting them back together though. Occasionally the takedown levers will not be fully lined up, one may be lower than the other. Racking the slide puts everything into the proper alignment though.

I just happened to email a local shop and ask when they'd be available. They replied and said they had gotten in 2 the day before. I came in that evening and bought one, the other had been sold already. They've since ordered some for customers but have "no idea" when they'll get more. Their Beretta rep was even surprised they had them. I paid $499 for it and have since read rumors of lower prices (even down to $399) online. I can't imagine a shop would sell of these things for less than $500, at least not until more flood the market. Thanks for all the complimants, and if you said it was ugly, I know you're just jealous 'cause I have one and you don't. :neener:

I know this is very sad and hard to believe, but I bought the gun on 9-22 and have not shot it yet. I will this Saturday, and I'll post a report then.
