Photobucket is cooperating again! Pics as promised. I was the only bidder on GB due to the seller posting bad pics w/ camera flash that made the finish on the Diamondback look worn! I took a chance. When it arrived @ my LGS, he took one look and offered me $100.00 over what I paid, then he upped it to $200.00. I didn't sell! I later found a correct box w/ paperwork on GB.

SSSHHH!

You are letting the cat out of the bag!

I too have got a few nice ones rolling the dice like that. Requires a lot of squinting, imagining, and praying in equal proportions.

Just like the tables at Caeser's, except you at least get something even when you crap out. And the gun is always nicer than the photos - Colt blueing is a hard image to capture with a cell phone.

That is a good looking pistol.

What a shame Colt decided to turn their back on the consumer market and double action revolvers. As much as I like S&W revolvers, Colt revolver were better!

To put it succinctly: you done good, real good. Nice score on a classic design from Colt.

Ouch. Seeing pictures like these make me want one even more. Congratulations, that was a great find.

Too bad you couldn't afford more barrel - I'd dump this outa shame before taking it out in public and opening yourself to frightening depths of ridicule.

I can certainly help you out with this in facilitating a sale to get you out from under that ballistic embarrassment - not for me mind, but I know a guy with no shame who might be persuaded to take it off your hands and even throw a significantly more manly Ruger MII into the mix - allowing you to go out shooting with your head held high rather than in disguise like the uni-bomber.

Anyhoo, well played sir.;)

I have had a 6" Diamondback since mid 70's and I probably shoot that one more than all my other handguns combined. The one rival is the 4" Diamondback in .38 special. Love those Colts!

Very nice gun.

I know Diamondback .22s because I received a .22 Diamondback with a 2 1/2" barrel as an 8th grade graduation present . . . wish I still had it, .22s with that barrel length are rather uncommon.

About three years ago I spotted a 4" .38 Diamondback in a pile of dirty revolvers at a gunshow. I got it for $370.00. It cleaned up to near perfect condition, if only it had been a .22.

I've watched the .22s go up and up and I imagine I'm not going to find that .22 to match my .38.

That is a pretty revolver and excellent pictures, nice going.

They are nice little guns. Too bad they have stopped being useful tools and assumed the status of art objects.

Around 1998 I picked up two D'backs, one in 38 and the other in 22, on the same day. Paid $510 for the pair. I think they may have gone up a bit since then.

I agree it's a shame Colt decided to rely on M16 sales and screw commercial handgun buyers. Looking at Colt revolver prices it's hard to believe they can't make a profit on new ones.
