I have a bench, and a Square deal press I got for free. I'm interested in seeing pics of your reloading bench/setup to get ideas for how I want to set mine up.

The SDB is a great press for loading moderate volumes of pistol ammo.

I suggest getting the Strong Mount so you can load standing up - it's easier on your back muscles.

My other suggestion is to rotate the press approximately 20 degrees counter-clockwise on the bench so that the handle doesn't go straight back into your body. This position will also make it easier to see the powder in the bullet-seating station.

There was a large thread running some months back on this .. however, since commissioning my new office etc my set-up has changed and improved hugely. This is one side of the office and the true office re work (what? .. work?!) ... is behind this pic angle .. tables and puters etc.

This is it at moment . clutter on floor because just finished tumbling loada cases. Also .. Hornady powder measure, RCBS luberisizer and tumbler in another room adjacent to this. I also do gun cleaning in that area too and not here so much. One or two more shelves outa shot, with powders, bullets etc.

Temptation instead of work ??? .... 'Fraid so!!

This is my reloading bench and gun tinkering and cleaning bench. I keep the bullets and powder and other necessity's in a locked closet on the oppsite side of the room, along with my gun safes.

Probably at my next house I will pretty up my reloading setup again. It is almost nicer to have it all open though. Who knows how long it will be until I make the ultimate blig-bling setup. I picture 5 or 6 1050's and a bunch of other stuff.

I thought my U shaped bench was uber until I saw the stuff on here. Now I'm thinking about moving the setup upstairs and transforming the largest single room in my house in the "gun room". The basement walls are stone so I can't safely anchor the bench. It's sturdy but it's not yet "invulnerable" and I want more purchase for the storage cabinets and scale shelf.

It's great being a bachelor. I can do stuff like that ;)

My setup is absolutely pathetic.
At least you got a set up. Mine is still in the boxes. Building it as we go. One piece at a time.

When the eldest son moves out his room becomes my gun/reloading room.

Not in a hurry to reload, cause Im in no hurry to see my son move out.

here is my bench, it's naked cuz i'm still waiting on my press and in the process of getting the other equipment. i paid $30 at target and $1 at home depot for some wood screws to sturdy it up a bit more.

I was going to say look at the original thread, but then I remembered that I have built a new bench at my new house with BlackSnowman's help. It's in the basement, which also has my computers and a bathroom and a door to let the dog out. I almost never leave this room!

no, the safe is not about to fall over! It's just a funky optical illusion...

Yeah, it is very clean in that shot. I took it about....10 minutes after I finished putting my basic stuff on it.

*Looks over shoulder at bench*

It's still pretty organized, but it's only been about about 6 weeks... :D

Not much in the way of powder, eh Kamicosmos? Lets see, BlueDot, Power Pistol, couple cans of Hodgdons.... No progressive? :scrutiny:

DE: Just looking at all those signs on your wall makes my eyes water! Do you wear sunglasses when you reload?;)

I may get one up of my reloading area... it is really messy right now though... you'd be lucky to see my press under all the workbench clutter... Organized chaos... just the way I like it.:)

hey DE is there a reloading bench in that pict????............I was to distracted by all the beer signs:what: :neener:

FireInTheHole, There's a Lee Loadmaster in Kamicosmos' pic on the left there. The bench is a lot larger than it looks and I think it's throwing off the scale for ya. It's about 4' tall, 8' wide and 2' deep. Those are 2x4s bracing the shelf. Makes the folding chair look like a kids chair being so tall.

He and I put it together in a few hours. It's attached to the wall. Very solid. Top is actually planks not just fiberboard. It's pretty nice to work on.

Once I get my setup cleaned up I'll post another pic, especially once my GIBrass.com order gets here. I've got 31 lbs of powder on the way. That combined with all the old powder my Dad gave me should make ya happy ;)
