Went out today to try and call some predators in the pines. No luck, except I almost got ran over by a deer. She was coming HARD! I did manage to shoot a few squirrels though [smilie=icon_mrgreen.gif]

I had a disappointing hunt -- went out with my Stevens Favorite, made in 1895, but squirrels were on the ground and I couldn't pick them up through the tang sight. Went out the next day with the Gae Bolga, my Kimber M82 and they were all in the trees -- would have been easy shooting with the Stevens. With the Kimber and my Burris 4x scope, it was like cheating.

From a couple of weeks ago before the start of deer season. I should have had four, but I botched two gimme shots.

Rembrandt, Wow... What a great looking rifle you have there... Great picture too.. I always keep an eye open for any model 52 but just never seem to see any for sale at the LGS. I also keep on the look out for a Winchester model 69, Remington 513 Sporter, Browning T Bolts and old Marlin 39's but the Winchester 52 TOPS the .22 rifle "want it" list for me.

They sure get finicky on a windy day! When I manage to bag one I like cookin em slow. Our squirrel season extends through the end of January. Nothin like hunting in the snow. Too cold? -- get over it! Dress right and chuff it.

My dog Toby, me and the two squrrels. I use a 1940's Iver Johnson Bycycle Works 16 ga. It was my father in laws, who was a WW2 vet and passed away before I met my wife. I have many modern Shotguns, but this old gun will bust a squrrel with one shot every time. It makes me slow down on my shots.
