What a GREAT birthday party! Looks like folks had some SAFE firearms fun. Imagine what kind of apoplexy fits the bliss-ninnies would have seeing so many American citizens of all ages and both sexes indulging in such sport shooting. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed Beetle Bailey shooting his SKS:

Looks like the recoil is about to land him on his keister!!! :D

Nah, his SKS is a kitten. Look at the muzzle end--no, that's not a launcher, it's an AK-74 brake. Recoil is mild. ;)

Great pics, Mauserlady! Thanks for putting that site up! :D

Preacherman The recoil on the SKS is like nothing (heavy carbine plus baby-size round). ;) I fired 240 rounds thru the SKS that day and never got my pants dirty :D .

The picture of me and Blackgun provides proof of how evil AKs are. If you even look at one, you'll turn to stone. That's why my eyes are closed.

Here's a pic from the wrong desert shoot but Mauserlady was there. I tried to get there but I got home to late from work to make it. Whens the next one?

Man, that looks like a bunch of fun! We need to do a "birthday shoot" here in Oklahoma.

Thanks for the pics Mauserlady.

Nice birthday party! Wish I had access to a place like that to shoot.

One comment: Just looking at this picture of Kevlarman's shooting from this position hurts my foot - I sure couldn't make mine turn like that.

Terrific B-D party. That's the way to spend it too. Nice, safe, with no shortage of FUN.

Funnily enough, I can no longer turn my foot that way; I sprained my ankle at work and it's not fully healed yet. :banghead:

cool -- I LOVE the one with Kevlarman with a Mauser and DJJ with an M1 right beside each other. Old enemies now friends I guess. :)

Say... Beetle, on your SKS with the muzzle brake -- I see you still have the bayonet on it. Can the bayo lock into extended position with the brake on there?

-K

oops.. and oh yes -- happy belated birthday! :)

Oh yeah, I found that Royal Robbins 5.11 pants have an integral holster system built in:

Well, wish I could have been there..

Glad it was fun, will try to join you sometime when I'm back in the states..
But I doubt I'll be living in the PRK anymore when I do!!

Kaylee, yes my bayonette can still lock in place, though I haven't needed it since Mauserlady didn't ask me to cut the cake ;) . The story with that SKS is it's a Yugo SKS and since I'm in California, the grenade laucher had to be removed before shipping. What they did with mine was to cut the threaded tip off of the rifle, leaving about one inch of the unthreaded part of the GL stub. So I had my gunsmith weld on an AK-74 style muzzle brake for both functionality and to cover up the unsightly stub. As you may know, the bayonette locks on a ring just behind the GL, so the only issue is clearance of the top (back?) of the blade not hitting the muzzle brake. Luck for me, my gunsmith did a great job and the bayo is fully functional, as is the muzzle brake for that matter. Thanks for noticing!

Happy Birthday

Mauserlady. Looks like you had a BUNCH o fun.

Thanks for sharing the pics.
I do have a question tho, if a squirrel was bothering the cake, why didn't somebody shoot it?

LOL

Holly

Holly - I think the squirrel was going after the remnants of the cake, which didn't bother me in the slightest... Only reason I can think that no one shot it is: no one
wanted to eat it. :D

Thanks for all the belated "happy birthdays" and I'm glad y'all are enjoying the picture page. It was weird putting it together this time. I'm not usually in many of the shots as I'm the nut behind the camera... Daughter took over this time and I actually got to shoot more than normal and ended up in a few more shots than normal...

I keep saying it but it's really only because it's (aacckk) right around the corner, the next one will be New Years Day so pencil it in....
