In my own defense, I should point out that the squirrel was about the size of a mouse, and was the same color as the ground. I managed to see it once, and the only thing I had loaded at that moment was my 1911. I did the best presentation to a braced kneeling I've ever done in my life, just as he disappeared behind the toaster.

As far as Kevlarman's grotesquely twisted ankle, the recoil from that Mauser is enough to take your mind off any other pain you may be experiencing.

I hate to break it to ya, but it was a chipmunk! Didn't anyone else ever watch Wild Kingdom?

Oh, and Holly, chipmunks are too damned cute to shoot. Well, I guess DDJ doesn't think so, but he probably woulda missed anyway, because to tell the truth, I didn't see a "toaster" out there either.
