I'm thinking about tarting up my Python with a set of faux ivory grips from Jim Badger and would like to get a sense of what it might look like. Does anyone have a picture of a 4" blued Python with ivory grips, preferably finger grooved that they would care to post?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

This isn't a very good exposure. Sorry! Those are fake ivory stocks and Tyler T grips on my snubby Python. They'd look better on my engraved four-inch Python, but it's a bit late in the evening to do photography.

Sad to say, fake ivory looks like plastic.

Standing Wolf:

Thanks for the pic. Badger makes a Corian grip that simulates ivory and while it isn't the same as the real thing, his grips are excellent.

As for the other "requests", I think the Python is sexy enough that it doesn't need any "help." ;)

Yep, but it's still plastic. It's my understanding mama nature has a patent on the process used to make ivory.

For the record, I like ivory a lot. If I had vast quantities of money to spend on firearms, all my favorite guns would have ivory and/or woolly mammoth ivory stocks. Fortunately or unfortunately, I've got $3.87, which doesn't quite add up to vast quantities.

By the way, I believe Eagle makes a simulated Ivory grip that Yellows with age somewhat and also shows grains in the grips. They do NOT look or feel like plastic. These are not that cheap from what I recall. I have a set floating around here somewhere.

Just my 2 pesos. :D

Bar S Grips makes grips out of "Tru Ivory" which is supposed to be so close to real ivory that most people can't tell the difference. Right now I don't think they make Python grips though. Thay have natural white ivory and slightly aged.
