I have been looking for a set of DARK wood grips for my newly acquired nickel Python. I haven't found ones that knock my socks off. I am looking for ebony or other darker-then-night wood grips. I checked Hogue, Spegel, Eagle, Ajax, Badger (closest so far) and have not found ones that I really like.

Badger has some rosewood ones with and without ivory diamond inserts that are nice, but before I drop the cash I want to see all my options.

Anyone have any suggestions??

Many thanks!

Cheap? No. Fast? No. Excellent? Yes.

You can send the good folks at Herrett's a piece of wood the right size, and in due time, you'll get back stocks in the shape of your choice to fit your hand. I sent them some coco bolo once, along with a check for a large amount of money and a trace of my hand. Truly beautiful stocks!

I have some rosewood Python grips with the rampant Colt gold medallion. They're factory (custom shop), and in perfect condition.

I paid no small sum for them a few years back, and they've been in my safe ever since, in a plastic bag.

If interested, PM me.

I have a pair of original factory stocks that are gathering dust. Also, have several different pachmayr grips that fit the Python. But you want something nicer.
